3D PRINTING

Additive Manufacturing & Digital Fabrication

We transform digital models into physical objects across a wide range of scales and applications. Using SLA resin printing for fine detail and FDM technology for large-scale production, we create models, replicas, sculptures, reliefs, prototypes and bespoke components.

Our services cover 3D scanning, model preparation, printing, assembly and surface finishing. Sanding, priming, artistic painting and ageing techniques complete each piece, allowing us to achieve the appearance of stone, metal, bronze and other materials to suit the project.

Scalable FDM & SLA Production

Karınca’s in-house 3D Printing Farm combines advanced FDM and SLA technologies to provide scalable production solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each project.

FDM technology is used for large-scale models, scenographic elements, replicas and durable structural components. SLA technology is preferred for intricate geometries, transparent components and applications requiring exceptional detail and surface quality.

With 24/7 production capability, digital model preparation and professional finishing processes managed under one roof, we deliver an integrated workflow—from prototyping and bespoke production to large-scale and serial manufacturing.

WHAT CAN WE PRODUCE WITH 3D PRINTING?

Integrating New Technologies with Proven Production Methods

At Karınca, we approach 3D printing not as a standalone technology, but as a versatile production method that complements and strengthens our existing manufacturing capabilities. By integrating additive manufacturing with woodworking, metalworking, acrylic fabrication, CNC machining, moulding, painting and professional finishing processes, we use this technology to solve complex production challenges and develop more efficient, flexible and project-specific solutions.

In addition to its practical advantages, we closely follow the evolving role of 3D printing in experimental design, architecture and contemporary manufacturing around the world. We focus on exploring what can be designed and produced beyond conventional limitations—creating new forms, structures, textures and applications that would be difficult or sometimes impossible to achieve through traditional methods alone.

Our production capabilities extend across furniture and lighting components, bespoke products, architectural objects, facade elements, museum and exhibition displays, scenographic forms, replicas, prototypes, moulds, models and limited-edition pieces. Depending on the project, 3D-printed components can be used as finished products or combined with wood, metal, acrylic, glass and other materials as part of a hybrid production process.

We believe additive manufacturing has a highly promising and influential future. By combining our established production experience with the possibilities offered by this rapidly developing technology, we aim not only to respond to today’s requirements, but also to explore and shape new approaches to design and manufacturing.

FULL-SCALE MUSEUM REPLICA PRODUCTION

The İvriz Monument

Using high-resolution laser scanning and 3D printing, we produced a full-scale replica of the İvriz Rock Monument, measuring 6 × 5 metres and comprising more than 150 individually printed sections.

Following precision assembly and artistic surface finishing, the completed work was installed at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums’ Museum of the Ancient Orient.

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN
SCENOGRAPHY

Burial Chamber Scenography

For the Ancient Egyptian artefact display at the Museum of the Ancient Orient in Istanbul, we designed and produced an original scenographic setting that evokes the atmosphere of an ancient burial chamber.

Every stage—including research, digital design, three-dimensional modelling, 3D printing, surface finishing, artistic painting and on-site installation—was developed as part of an integrated production process.

WORKERS OF
THE IMPERIAL MINT

Work In Progress...

We are bringing the production heritage of Darphane-i Âmire

the Imperial Mint—and the people behind it to life through historical photographs and archival documents. Informed by research and analysis, our models depict the mint’s machinery and workers within their period working environment.

Work is ongoing.

We will soon share the full story and a closer look at the making process.
